CVRDE celebrates National Science Day
The theme is about taking it close to people

Arjun auditorium on Combat Vehicle Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE) premises at Avadi turned centre of attraction with celebration of National Science Day on 28 February. The theme of the celebration was ‘science for people and people for science.’
Subodh Kumar Nirla , Scientist ‘D’, presented a paper on ‘application of composites for armoured fighting vehicles, a survey on various aspects.’ He narrated all stages of the development of composites and their worldwide use, applications and advantages.
He was awarded with the Science Day oration Award by Director of CVRDE V Balamurugan. Balamurugan explained the scientific and engineering research in relevant areas of CVRDE in science and technology projects.
This will lead to science and technology development for advanced systems of relevance to Indian Army with possible spin-offs to society. It also will lead to futuristic science and technology cooperation with Indian academia and institutes.
Science and technology projects would facilitate to collaborate with international science and technology institutes within the framework laid down. S. Praveen Kumar, vice chairman, Works committee proposed the vote of thanks and the celebration ended with national anthem.
