The month of November this year was not an easy one for Tamilnadu as it had to witness destruction caused by cyclone Gaja. But at every moment of crisis there is always a ray of hope, a helping hand ready to give support.
This turned true when the defence sector of this nation also stoodby Tamilnadu. Employees of Engine Factory Avadi, a premier defence production unit located in Chennai came together and contributed Rs 5,00,000 towards rehabilitation of people affected by gaja.
Sources from Defence Ministry says employees contributed the amount from their salary to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. General Manager of Engine Factory Avadi Anil Kumar handed over the amount to Tamilnadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy on 20 December.
Engine Factory Avadi manufactures various types of battle tank engines and has an employee strength of 1300.
