How to search a vessel that is lost on the sea? The answer perhaps will be given in Chennai. The coordination between India and Australia has reached its peak.
These are evident in Chennai as headquarters of Indian Coast Guard (eastern region) is conducting a training course in association with Australian Border Force (ABF).
Sources from the Defence Ministry point out that the training starting from 26 November will go on till 30 November.
The coming days will see a major transfer of skills, knowledge and equip the officials with the confidence required to undertake a vessel search.
This training programme will bolster both countries efforts for realizing common national maritime objectives of ensuring safety and security at sea.
This joint training course will yield fruitful results and go a long way in strengthening our multi-dimensional maritime capabilities.
Susan Grace, Australian Consul General in Chennai, Tim Sheppard, Counsellor, Australian Border Force and personnel from directorate of revenue intelligence, customs, Coastal Security Group and Chennai Police took part in the inaugural of the five day programme on 26 November.
