Marriage is an important part in the life of men and women, for fairer sex commencement of marital life can even mean a full stop to their career life. But for Samyuktha Prem, Mrs India Universe Globe, 2018 this is not the case.
Entering into a wedlock is not the end of worklife for a woman. It is just a perception that woman cannot stay long on the workfront after her nuptials, she said while speaking to Infodea. It is never late for the fairer sex to follow their dream and achieve their goals. The things will be lot easier when there is a good deal of cooperation from the husband.
Fashion has always been a passion for me, she said. ‘I studied fashion designing from London School of Fashion after which I started working with Prada group. I always used to admire models walking on ramp.’ Fashion enthusiast tied the knot with Prem Subbaraj.
I left the career in fashion sector and became a home-maker. But then the thought of resuming her career in the sector came back to her, says Samyuktha. The thought of walking on the ramp used to excite the fashion admirer, she said who shared her ideas with husband.
He encouraged me, but was concerned with my weight that was around 90 kgs. Encouragement from her better half did the miracle. It was with his support that I worked towards bringing down my weight so that I could take part in the event.
The things were not easy at the competition, she had to vie with 35 competitors who came in the age group 21-35. Hardwork and passion got me the title of Mrs India Universe for 2018, she says. Taking part in fashion events was not new for the proud winner. ‘I took part in lot of events, but competing for Mrs India Universe was special. This gave me the confidence and an oppurtunity to learn hindi.
Giving out a word of advise to fellow women she says ‘never let your dreams die. Follow it till you achieve it and this will build confidence in you.’ Samyuktha will be representing the country in an international pageant next year.
