SHASUN CELEBRATES FRESHERS’ DAY

The 13th Induction Day of Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women was celebrated in all its vivacity and jubilation on 14th June 2017 to welcome the new entrants for the academic year 2017-18. The occasion was celebrated amidst the dignitaries, the Secretary, Shri S.Abhaya Kumar Jain, the Associate Secretary , Shri Ashok kumar Mehta, the members of the staff and students of the college.
With the participation of nearly 1180 students, the event commenced with lighting of lamp followed by the welcome address by Dr.B.Poorna – Principal. An AV on the overview of the college showcasing the journey of Shasun was played . In his presidential address, Shri Abhaya Kumar Jain mentioned about the ample scope provided by the Institution which would help the students to groom their personality and lead them to achieve success in life. He also advised the freshers to explore themselves , extend their limits and take part in all the activities as much as they can in the college to achieve success.
The Chief Guest Ms. Srilalitha Gopal – Managing Director & Director, Haritha Techserv Ltd., welcomed the students and threw light upon the various avenues that lay ahead of them in shaping their future. She congratulated the students for choosing the right place for their higher studies. She impressed upon the students to have a vision, purpose and a plan for their future and also stated that anything can be achieved by hard work as there is no replacement for hard work. She also insisted the student community to have a clear vision ahead in the field of education and excel in their chosen fields and advised the students to use their potential in the right way . The Guest of Honour Dr. Akhila Srinivasan – Managing Director, Shriram Life Insurance Company Ltd., commended on the services rendered by the Jain community towards society. She emphasized on value based women empowerment and to choose a path of success which can be a mix of modernity and tradition.
On the occasion of Induction day , the new student council members were introduced to the new entrants and the Calendar for the academic year 2017-18 was released. Certificates were also awarded for the best performers in the Bridge Course.
