Department of Computer Science and Application of Hindustan College of Arts and Sciences had organized Coscian 2018, an Inter-collegiate Technical Symposium that was held last September 28th.

Dr. K. Anandhi, Deputy Director, Confederation of Indian Industry, Institute of Logistics, Chennai was the Chief Guest. She said, she felt energized amidst of younger generation’s mind. She said younger minds are agile. Students can get information from various sources, but knowledge can be transimitted only through teaching and learning process. She insisted students not to compare themselves with others. She told the students to set up to the sky as their limit and try to achieve it their own way.

Twenty colleges have registered for this inter- collegiate technical meet and around 200 students participated in various events. Participant certificates were distributed to the participants. Merits certificates were issued to the Winners. Cash prizes were given to the first and second place winners.

Dr. Y. Angeline Christobel, gave the welcome address while Dr. S. Thirumagan, Prinicpal, felicitated the gathering. The students acknowledged the principals’ address with a great round of applause and motivated the students to participate in the symposium. And Dr. Susan Marthandan, HCAS Directress, gave the Presidential address. In her speech, she encouraged the students to learn more about the emerging technologies. She also mentioned the upcoming transport technology which will be more helpful and easier for the common people to commute. 

Valedictory address was given by Dr. V. J. Philip, Deputy Director for academics. He Congratulated the participants & winners. And he advised the students to voluntarily involve themselves in these kind of events.
