Old students memorise their college days

For a few of them it was an opportunity to recollect their old days at the college. For couple of others the moment was apt to meet their old friends. And, alumni meet of Hindustan College of Arts and Science (HCAS) gave room for both to happen.

The moment turned more delightful for the alumni meet coincided with the silver jubilee year of the educational institution. It is interesting to note that the college began in 1995 with 100 studen8. Currently the student strength is 3500.

The event began with a prayer song. Director of HCAS Dr. Susan Marhandan said she was happy to be a part of the gathering. ‘she wants to maintain ties with alumni who are doing extremely well, said Dr. Susan.

She exhorted them to take care of those who are not doing that well and give back to college. ‘Alumni must come back and meet juniors and inspire them to become successful.’ Dr. Elizabeth Verghese, chairperson of Hindustan Group of Institutions said she was delighted as the college completed 25 glorious years in service to education.

‘It is delighting to see alumni coming to this gathering in large numbers. It is wonderful time to celebrate and meet each one of you and said it is their responsibility to take care of poor among them.’ Dr. Ilanjiam said alumni of HCAS are doing well in all walks of life. She said prospects are bright for arts, science and microbiology students.

These students have better placement offers these days. Former student Ravindran, senior software engineer said HCAS is a good place to study. Another former student Anas Sassi, senior project manager said the college inspired her to do many great things.

Mahalaxmi of Punjab National Bank said she was inspired by Dr. K Malarvizhi her teacher. Dr. K. Malarvizhi, Dean (Business Studies) also spoke.

A professor of HITS said that HCAS will organize mega alumni meet in Singapore in February 2020 and graduates from Hindustan Group of Institutions residing in East Asia are welcome to attend it. Dr. S. Thirumagan, Principal of the college welcomed the gathering.
