The students of Hindustan College learn the art of interview

The Hindustan College of arts and Science in Padur conducted a half day training program on ‘facing job interviews’ successfully in the campus premises. Final year UG students of all streams as well as arts and sciences PG students participated.

While introducing the workshop training program to students, the Vice Principal of the college, Samuel Sampath Kumar stressed on the importance of general knowledge and reading newspapers regularly.  He also outlined qualities good and are in need for attending successful interviews.

Dr S Thirumagan, the Principal while delivering the special address spoke on skills in need for successful participation in interviews.  “It is very much essential to have good communication skills and students are hesitant on that.  To set right the situation, we are conducting this kind of workshops,” he added.  He spoke about Ambani group case, where Mukesh Ambani was to undergo training in his father company before being given a job.  Mukesh Ambani after training said that we are not contributing to staff but they are doing much to the success of our organization. 

He said difference between knowledge and education where in one knows something and education is in undergoing a course.  Knowledge helps a lot and training workshops and others help in knowledge diffusion as he also spoke of difference between school and college education as college education helps a student to ask intelligent question. He wished participants and lecturers or trainers a success in this work shop

Ishwariya Ramakrishnan has B Tech from Krishna college worked in Cognizant Sholinganallur for 3 years and went in to soft skill training was the spokes person and a trainer for this program.  She presented power point lecture, case studies role plays games and encouraged students to come out of their self be extravert and answered all questions and conducted training program successfully for half a day

Priya Sukhi convener for this program and staff of the college of HCAS thanked the Principal Dr  S Thirumagan, VP – Samuel Sampath Kumar, Ishwariya Ramakrishnan the trainer and students others for making this program a grand success.

About 50 students have participated belonging to UG third year and PG second year of all streams.
