Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) was the hub of activity when its first counselling for VIT Engineering Entrace Examination 2019 (VITEEE 2019) was held on May 9. Souces say the counselling was held to admit students into various courses offered by the educational institution.
VITEEE was held across India to select students for the courses offered by the reputed institution from 10 to 21 April. Sources from the university say, while the counselling will go on till May 15, students who secured ranks upto 10,000 in VITEEE have taken part in the first phase of the counselling.
Counselling will take part across the campuses of the institution namely Amaravathi (Andhra Pradesh), Chennai, Vellore. It was a moment of pride for Nandhini Srikanth who secured 96th rank in VITEEE. She received the letter of admission for B.Tech (biotechnology) course during the first phase of the counselling from VIT vice president G.V. Selvam.
N.Sambandam, pro vice chancellor, VIT (Chennai), V.S. Kanchana Bhaaskaran, dean (academics), P.K. Manoharan, additional registrar and T. PalaniRajan, assistant director (admission) were also present.
