Coast Guard to conduct fitness challenge

Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is planning to conduct a fitness challenge on 27 January that is aimed at exposing the participants to a life of adventure, fitness and sports activities for a day.
Every year ICG conducts an event to connect itself to the public as a part of Coast Guard Raising Day, this time it is conducting the fitness challenge. The 43rd Coast Guard Raising Day will be celebrated on 1 February.
According to sources from Defence Ministry, fitness challenge is to be held at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai.  The event will be in team format and personnel from corporates, armed forces, college students, fishermen and local populace are participating.
The intention is also to promote fitness and awareness about Coast Guard, no registration fee is being charged for participating in the event. However, advance registration is required to be done and registration will be done on first come first serve basis.
The total participants will be restricted to 500 and the event will start in the morning with the inauguration at 9:30 am and culminate with prize distribution to the winners of the event.
