Nurses are epitome of ideal medical care and service, they can be the right means to strengthen the image of healthcare institutions was the message driven home during International Nurses Day celebration held at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research recently.

Director General of Police (Railways) C Sylendra Babu speaking on the occasion said it is nurses who give care when people are not well. Service of the nurses not only helps patients regain confidence, but also their goodwill.

As nurses have ideal image among the masses owing to their services, they become the right means to spread awareness on health related issues and ideal brand ambassadors of healthcare institutions. 

Vice-chancellor of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research Dr Vijayaraghavan said despite the progress of technology in the medical care, involvement of human element is always crucial for health recovery. It is here the role of nurses becomes vital, he said. About ten nurses received awards in recognition of their services from Sylendra Babu.
