Rajasthan is an epic state of the art and magnificent historical fort, temples, architectural structures or monuments and palaces of ancient royal kings. The land of kings Rajasthan is rich in culture and heritage unmatched by anywhere else in the world. Rajasthan has a history that is as old as the history of Indus valley and Harappan civilization.

 

Rajasthan is famous for its culture, music, dance and the unique taste of traditional food. Rajasthan has its origin from Shaurseni Apabhransha. It holds one of the biggest sanctuaries at Bharatpur which is the resident for thousands of birds around 230 different species. It is also famous for its folk musical instruments which are used as an important part to enhance the sweetness and charm of folk songs and dances some of the traditional instruments that symbolise the Rajasthan culture are sarangi, kamayach, shehnai, and dhol.

It is famous for its different exceptional dance forms.

Rajasthani folk dance is a splendid experience for all who can witness it. Ghoomar is one such dance form loved by many different countries as well and that is must performed dance in all Rajput weddings. bhopa and kathipudi are some other historical forms of Rajasthan dance. Festival of rajasthan are truly a mixture of rituals, traditions, colours and full of celebrations. The kite festival and kite competition apart from Teej and Pushkar camel fair are worth witnessing. There are so many beautiful historical places in Rajasthan like Umaid Bhawan Palace, Amer fort, Ranthambore fort, Hawa Mahal, Kumbhalgarh fort, Mehrangarh fort.

 

The best thing about the state is that it represents the architecture of Hindu and Muslim and it’s a hub of traditional clothes and jewellery. The tribal areas were eventually conquered and ruled by Arjunyas, Kushans and several others before the establishment of the Rajputana clan in Rajasthan. Life in this desert land is all about the traditional way of living. Today Rajasthan has developed like any other Indian State. However, this peaceful state has all its cultural aspects and never hesitate to introduce the outer world to them. Most famous Udaipuri paintings reflect real-life events with an aim to archive our past and reconstruct it. Elegant, decorative designs and bold use of colours are highlights of the Udaipuri style of paintings. Rajasthani men and women are known to wear exotic pieces of jewellery, specific to the region. The typical pieces of gold jewellery that women wear are timaniyan, Bala, bajuband, gajra, gokhru, jod, rakhri and so on. Men are also known to wear chokers and earrings.
