Ashraya Celebrates Annual Day

March 11 was a day to be remembered for Ashraya, a school for special children run by Southern Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation Head Quarters (SRWWO) for it is on that day it celebrated its annual day.

What bestowed glory to the celebration was the students of the school proved their mettle and won medals in the special olympics meet at Nehru Stadium in Chennai in the past. The students bagged four gold, two silver, two bronze medals.
Students performed cultural programmes that won the appreciation of many. Mansi Kulshrestha, President, SRWWO distributed uniforms to children. Cash awards for outstanding performance regular attendance all round performance, punctuality were also given.
Considering the importance of speech therapy for these challenged children, efforts were taken by SRWWO president to bring in services of a speech therapist. General Manager of Southern Railway R K Kulshrestha and divisional railway manager of Chennai division Naveen Gulati were among those present.
