We are conducting a lot of programmes across the nation as a part of the celebrations, said Swami Suddhananda Giri addressing the media persons in Chennai on Wednesday (3 October). The saint has given valuable messages in form of kriya yoga meditation, the underlying unity among all religions, the art of balanced health and well-being in body, mind and soul. We want to take them to people as they are useful through various programmes across the nation as a part of the celebrations.
Ministry of Culture (Government of India) is sponsoring the celebrations. The celebrations are being organised by Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS). YSS is organising a talk on ‘master your destiny through kriya yoga meditation’ on October 6 (Saturday) at Chinmaya Heritage Centre on Harrington Road in Chennai, he said.
The lecture will be given from 5:30pm to 8pm on that day and by Swami Suddhananda Giri. Books and publications by YSS will be put on sale at the venue. A discount of 10 percent will be offered on books written by Swami Paramahamsa Yogananda.
After the lecture there will be a talk on simple tips for keeping our life very healthy and meditation for having a peaceful mind. Also as a part of the celebrations we are planning to bring out a book that informs about the history of YSS, an organisation established by Swami Paramahamsa Yogananda. This will also inform about the life and achievements of the saint.
The book titled ‘Yogi of East and West’ is likely to be ready by March next year. There will also be a release of a commemorative currency coin which will celebrate the spiritual legacy of the saint. We have already given the design to the government, coin is expected to be launched soon.
A school in Ranchi which was established by Swami Paramahamsa Yogananda is also being renovated as a part of the birth anniversary celebration. The renovation works are expected to witness completion soon. The school will begin functioning with a renovated building and a campus once works are done. Swami Pavitrananda was also present.
