It is said that love doesn’t happen by revealing, it just happens. It’s a feeling that touches the heart without any transaction. Gitanjali Rao’s animated feature film “Bombay Rose” gives us the same feeling of pure love that has no boundaries. Gitanjali Rao lay her focus only on the faces of two lovers – Salim a young Muslim man from Kashmir and Kamala an escaped child bride who sells flowers and also works at a dance bar. Bombay rose is an animated romance featuring the beautiful art of music.

The characters in Bombay Rose are all struggling, either financially or emotionally. These people have come from all different parts of India to find jobs. An orphan boy Salim lost his parents in the war and is now struggling through life alone One day he meets the young flower seller girl Kamala at a market in Bombay and both fall for each other, but she is Hindu and he is Muslim. Both the characters are harassed again and again by the people due to the presence of the opposite cast. The chemistry between Kamala and Salim will make you understand that love will get you out of trouble and teach you how to fight for your rights. Bombay Rose gets you thinking about your own life and your interactions with people across different layers of society.

In today’s era, there is a high standard of VFX and animated movies in such situations some people may find it a bit outdated but this shortcoming has also been fulfilled by the film direction and music, and visually the animation is painterly and colorful that shows deep emotions. Background music and voice both are tremendous which is enough to see and hear. Some sensitive issues weaken the movie and also put the movie in the red zone which the director should have avoided.
Bombay Rose is one of the best-recommended movies that one should watch because of the way the movie is crafted and the way characters come into life the whole movie is just mesmerizing. Each Character has different subplots which are simple as well as complicated and every character has a different story and emotions which connect the whole movie.
