The Chief Minister of Karnataka and the Chairman of Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), Shri S. P. Gupta, IAS, interacted recently regarding the issues in prevention of cruelty and welfare measures for stray animals, to protect, preserve and save them.
Major focus of the meeting was the solution on the problem of stray animals, Gochar land, activation of State Animal Welfare Board, illegal slaughtering, animal sacrifice, transport of animals in violation of law rules and regulations and etc.
Members of the AWBI, Shri Girish J. Shah, Shri Ram Krishan Raghuvanshi and Shri Sunil Mansinghka were also present in the event. After the said meeting, a press conference was organized to apprise the media of the discussion.
