IR’s kind gesture, sewa trains begin their innings

Indian Railways always has something for passengers everytime. This turned true once again. ‘Sewa’ passenger trains began their service across the nation after their inaguration by Union Minister for Railways, Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal on 15 October.

The inagurals were done through video conferencing from New Delhi in the presence of Dr. Harshvardhan, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Science and Technology and  Earth Sciences, Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel and Suresh C. Angadi, Union Minister of State for Railways participated in New Delhi.  

A set of 10 sewa trains were inagurated across the nation, three of them are in Tamilnadu (Southern Railway). Inagural functions for launching the trains were held in Salem, Coimbatore and Pollachi in Southern Railway area.

Parliament members S.R. Parthiban (in Salem), P.R.Natarajan, A.K.Selvaraj and S.R.Balasubramoniam (in Coimbatore) and K.Shanmugasundaram (in Pollachi) took part in the function. MLA Amman K.Arjunan was also present during the inaguration in Coimbatore.

Divisional railway manager and additional divisional railway manager of Salem U Subbarao and A Annadurai took part in the function held at Salem and Coimbatore, while Divisional railway manager of Palakkad Pratap Singh Shami took part in the function held in Pollachi.
