Sports and culture foster friendsip

Sports and culture became the buzz words for Southern Railway, thanks to eighth Inter-Divisional Sports and Cultural Meet 2020. Sterling Club Lawns at Nungambakkam was hub of activity when the valedictory of the sports and cultural meet was held on its premises.

The meet was organised jointly by Southern Railway Officer’s Association (SROA) and Southern Railway Promotee Officers’ Association (SRPOA).

The three day event witnessed participation of  nearly 400 railway officers and their families of Southern Railway. The function began in a grand manner on 10 January after its inauguration by Bina John, president, Southern Railway Women’s Welfare Headquarters Organisation.

Contests in music, dance  indoor and outdoor games were held as a part of the meet with a purpose of  fostering a spirit of friendship and fraternity among the Railway families spread across the zone.

John Thomas, General Manager, Southern Railway, distributed the prizes to the winners in the contests during the valedictory. The Overall Championship in the competitions was won by Team Headquarters One and the Overall Runners up of the Competitions were Team Headquarters Two of Southern Railway. 

John Thomas gave away the trophy to the team leader, Priamvada Viswanathan, Prinicipal Chief Commercial Manager, Southern Railway.
