AIFF (All India Football Federation) will be setting up the preparation camp in Goa for Under 16 boys and Under 16 girls India for the upcoming 2020.

AFC tournament which was set to hold in November 2020 in Bahrain but is now postponed to February 2021 due to the COVID pandemic.

Setting up of camp is a necessity to prepare boys and girls to come up on the field against the strong competitors like Australia, Uzbekistan, and South Korea as they were all restricted to the four walls and their preparations are hampered with no football practice from last 5 months in between this pandemic and nationwide lockdown.

Indian team coach Bibiano Fernades is searching for an opportunity to get back to track again and shake up the rusty team for the match against the three most strong competitors.

Though AIFF was planning to train the players abroad for training due to restrictions on airways and continuous rise in COVID cases the training is scheduled in Goa only.

The players will be allowed to get in fields after the coronavirus testing, if the test comes out to be negative then only the player will be allowed to enter else if the result is positive he/she has to stay quarantined in Goa till the test comes negative or he/she will be sent back.

The U 17 women team is also setting up a preparation camp in Goa to prepare for the U 17 world cup. Though, the coach Thomas Dennerby is in Sweden and waiting for international flights to start soon so he can resume the training of girls.

Training for both boys and girls is about to set up in the last of this month in Goa only.

India is hoping for better results this time in 2021 in Peru than 2018 when they qualify many rounds and reach semifinals.
