Sports Stadia in Delhi

There are 05 Sports stadia located in New Delhi being operated and administered by Sports Authority of India (SAI) viz. Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, India Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee Swimming Pool Complex and Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range.

The Department of Sports has made sports facilities under the Department of Sports and maintained by Sports Authority of India (SAI), Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE), Gwalior and LNIPE, Guwahati, available free of cost w.e.f. 01.11.2019.

The SAI is providing training to the athletes under its Regional Centres, Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS), Patiala, and other training centres established by SAI at different locations.  The Ministry is providing block grants to SAI for running the SAI including its training facilities and stadia.  The information for current year and the previous 3 years of block grants provided to SAI is as below:
