Xiaomi’s Redmi disclosed the cheapest 5 G Smartphone in the form of Redmi 10X. The handset represents a whole new start to 5 G popularization as the company has been able to bring the new connectivity standard to the sub $250 range.

Besides the 5 G, the new handset also comes with an AMOLED display which is another accomplishment on this price point. The new handset can easily justify the recent statement by Lei Jun which points out that Xiaomi will stop producing 4 G Smartphone for China until the end of the year. T

he last barrier brought the new connectivity to cheap Redmi phones, and the MediaTek Dimensity 820 Redmi 10X proves customers are going to be able to see 5 G connectivity Redmi Note phones soon.

In addition to its efforts to expand its range of 5 G Smartphone, the company has also begun pre-research on 6 G along with the growth of satellite internet.

In a recent interview, Xiaomi’s co-founder and CEO Lei Jun has confirmed some of the future plans for his venture. He also mentioned some of the difficulties they face because of the COVID-19 pandemic that is still going on.

The 5 G will revolutionize the industry with technologies such as 4 K and 8 K conferencing, cloud gaming (game streaming), and auto-pilot, the executive says. Of that reason, to speed up the transition, the company will ensure a large portfolio of Redmi 5 G products.

Unfortunately, the coronavirus outbreak in China severely impacted the supply chain of the company. Because of that, it was in warehouses out of 5 G handsets.

This made Xiaomi subsidize factories to increase 5 G Smartphone production by 250 million Yuan. In addition, it is planned to halt 4 G handset manufacturing in China by the end of 2020 to spend more resources on 5 G devices.

Xiaomi will concentrate more on Smartphone and AIoT, announced last year. It will also work with the Chinese Government to build disaster warning systems and other 5G-based public service systems.
