PHDCCI welcomes overhaul of education policy

Dr D K Aggarwal, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has welcomed the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and said the policy overhaul would result in more skilled than ever before Indian youth ready to take on the world.

Asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative will result in evolving a stronger education system and will promote creativity and curiosity among young minds. The school and colleges curriculum would make the students more skill-oriented, Aggarwal said.

The new policy is to help the youth improve their critical analytical faculties and enable them to think and make effective use of the knowledge they gained.

Greater flexibility and choices of courses in undergraduate courses will help the students make their choices and switch according to their aptitude and assessment as per the requirements. It will be for the first time such a flexible choice is being offered to students at the undergraduate level.

This will help the youth to be ethical, rational, compassionate, and caring, while at the same time prepare them for gainful, fulfilling employment, Aggarwal said.

The NEP 2020 will bridge the gap between Research and Education in India and making innovation and adaption our strength, Dr Aggarwal said.
