Abhyudaya: Sunrise of Journalism in MITS

Journalism Society of MITS Gwalior organised ‘Abhyudaya’, the fest with variety of events to showcase ones skills. There were three events- Qrious: the quiz Competition, Alankrit: the creative essay competition and Kalakari: a live sketching event . All the three events were attended by various students from different institutions in Gwalior, two out of the three events in Abhyudaya were held on 2 nd March – Qrious and Alankrit, while Kalakari was held on 3 rd March 2019.

Qrious was a quiz competition with an objective to check the general knowledge of the participants. There were three rounds with elimination in each round, the last three standing were awarded with the prize money of ₹5000, ₹2000 and ₹1000 respectively. The questions asked covered history, politics, entertainment etc. Participants competed either in teams of two or individually. At the end of the third round, there were five mental giants standing in the order of 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd , namely Adesh Singh Tomar and Sparsh Ahemad (3 rd ) , Kshitij Nagar (2 nd ) and Himanshu Bhanpurkar and Aparna Khare (1 st ).

The Second event, Alankrit was a creative writing competition where the participants were assigned with different topics and they were asked to write a story based on the topic they were given. The students weaved their thoughts into a marvellous story.

Kalakari, the art competition witnessed some talented artists who pictured their thoughts with colours and figures. The winner of the competition was Brijmohan Kushwaha from MITS, the second position was bagged by Kartik Kumar from Fine Arts college and Neeraj Sen stood third. Events like this encourages the students to make room of interest for politics, content writing and designing, which will ultimately help the society and the nation to grow.
