The Hindustan College of Arts and Science celebrated 69th Republic day with much celebrations in its campus as Dr. S. Thiru Magan hoisted the national flag and took salute of NCC students and march past also. 

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Thirumagan said Independence  day is a happy one and Republic day adds proud to country  Previously monarchs ruled country and when British came they took over.  After Independence unification was achieved as monarchs committed cruelty to Indians and reunification was achieved, Republic day is to recollect that happy moment, he said, as it is a day of awareness perfection. 

HCAS is a perfect institution in celebrating Republic day and college will improve and spoke of 3 people who received Padma awards from PM Modi today.  One among them is a person who saw the use of plastics is indispensable and can put roads with it  Another is a 98 year old yoga master, and a Thiagaraja College Professor Rajagopal Vasudevan. He spoke he is proud of all as all are from our state.

Dr. Thiumagan also spoke of boy of 9th class from Wannarpet Chennai who received award from Tamil Nadu CM  Mr. Edapatti Palaniswamy as he turned Rs. 21000 to police as he found it on road as Dr. Thirumagan recounted the incident vividly. He recounted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clean India campaign and its relevance and congratulated housekeeping staff for keeping the campus clean.

Mr. Amal Raj an officer of the college welcomed principal, staff and students recited Poet Bharathi’s one poem and said that he is proud in welcoming all and requested Principal to give welcome address and wished it will be a good day.

The vote of thanks was given by Palaniappan NSS Officer who thanked the management, the Principal VP Samuel Sampath Kumar teaching and non teaching staff for making this program a grand success as ceremony came to end with singing of national Anthem. Sweets were distributed to all as it came to a close. Many students and staff of college participated in this function held in college campus in Padur.
