Hindustan Alumni Association and HITSAA held the Annual Alumni Meet 2018

Hindustan University (HITS) in association with HITS Alumni Association (HITSAA), held the Annual Alumni Meet 2018 last December 1, Saturday from 10.30 am to 1 pm at MGR Hall, HITS, Padur Campus. About 300 Alumni participated in the event.

Dr. T.P. Somasundaran, Dean, PGS was the Chief Guest. He delivered the keynote address and spoke about the importance of the alumni and their help to the Alma mater. About 300 alumni participated in the event. While the Guest of Honor, Dr. E. Bhaaskaran, Deputy Director, Dept. of Industries and Commerce, Govt. of Tamil Nadu & President of HITSAA and Mr. Sundararajan, Principal, HIET, Secretary of HITSAA, Dr. Pon Ramalingam, graced the occasion and interacted with the alumni.

Right after singing the school’s national anthem, Dr. E. Bhaskaran, President of HITSAA gave his welcome address. He talked on various prestigious accreditations credited to HITS by MHRD, NAAC, NIRF & NBA to name a few. The contributions rendered to society from Dr. KCG Verghese Charitable Foundation were mentioned as well together with the other CSR activities of NSS Cell. And Mr. Sundarajan, Principal of HITSAA, Secretary of HITSAA presented the Activities of HITSAA in 2018. The presentation was about all the events organized by HITSAA in 2018. The Silver Jubilee Celebrations of class 1989 to 1993 were showcased and the highlight was the Golden Convergence that was held on 2nd Dec 2017.

The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. S. Sathyalakshmi, Joint Secretary of HITSAA. She conveyed her greetings and blessings to the alumni and insisted on their continuous participation in the growth of their Alma Mater.
And at the later part, a concert by “Prana Band” who played the new kollywood and old classic that entertained the alumni, was sang by the emcee and Ms. Aishwarya of batch 2017 as a back up singer. In between the music concert, prominent alumni like Dr. Pattamatta, BE-Aero of 2010 batch, Assoc Prof., IIT Madras, Mr. Nishant Ravi, BE-Chem Eng’g of batch 2014, Wildlife Conservationist, Mr. Ramanan, BE-Mech of batch 1994, Director, CADAM shared their success stories. Alumni and faculty interacted informally during the high tea organized by the University. The event ended at 1.30pm
