Pledge is for saving water and promoting cleanliness

Enthusiasm ruled the roost at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) premises as 6000 students gathered to take a pledge to save water and promote cleanliness on 10 September.

They took pledge for Swachh Bharat and Jalsakthi Abhiyan. Kanchipuram district collector P.Ponnaiah administered the pledge. Collector said Jalshakti Abhiyan is a mission to conserve water and Swachh Bharat is to promote
sanitation.

As a bid to promote these two initiatives this mega event has been organized by SRMIST, said Ponnaiah. Ponniah, planted a sapling on the occasion. DRDA Project Director T Sridhar and Tahsildar Shankar accompanied the collector.

SRMIST’s registrar N. Sethuraman and director (student) affairs T Mythili Director (Engineering and Technology) SRM Dr. C. Muthamizhchelvan were among those present.
