VIT School of Law Organized a Legal Awareness Camp

VIT School of Law, Chennai, organized the “Legal Awareness /Legal Aid Camp”, at the Government High School, Ratniamangalam, a village in Kanchipuram District, last March 12, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Dignitaries who attended the occassion and resource persons comprises of retired District Judge, Senior Advocate, Retired Tahsildar, present Village Administrative Officer of Ratinamangalam, and other revenue officials and professors of the law school.

During the opening ceremony Mr. Rajasingh District Judge(retired) sensitized the public with respect to reliefs and cautions under motor vehicle laws for juveniles. And Mr. Srinivasan, a Village Administrative Officer of Ratinamangalam, invited queries related to any revenue schemes or welfare schemes and registered his sincere appreciation for the demeanor of the law students in approaching the village communities.

Advocate from the High Court of Madras A. Fernandes offered a range of reliefs and rescue possible for economically oppressed individuals and families, who are under any means of financial bondage. While Prof.(Dr.) M. Gandhi, Dean, VIT School of Law, invited the audience to approach the resource persons to know more about various schemes of government regarding employment, welfare and socio-economic empowerment-schemes that made available by the Government .

The event brought free legal counseling, advice and assistance to 50 participants from the poor and down-trodden of the communities living in the vicinity. A large number of students of the Law School facilitated the individuals and families attended the camp in processing their petitions.
