IN lends a helping hand, conducts medical camp

Indian Navy rose to the occasionb aptly to mark Navy Day celebrations. Headquarters of Tamilnadu and Puducherry Naval Area conducted a medical camp at ADW Government Middle School at Avadi in Chennai on 15 October.

While the camp was inaugurated by Commodore S Shyam Sundar, Naval Officer-in-Charge(TN and P), the medical staff for the camp was derived from INS Adyar and other naval ships based in Chennai.

The camp witnessed an overwhelming response from local residents and 175 patients from Avadi and adjoining area were treated.

The prescribed medicines were distributed free at cost at the venue. The camp included medical consultation, physiotherapy, screening of blood, urine samples, random blood sugar test and health parameter checks.

Information boards for healthy way of living were exhibited at the venue. Pamphlets in Tamil Language were distributed to increase the awareness about prevention of Dengue.
