Seminar on disaster relief organised

Seminar focusing on humanitarian assistance and prodiving disaster relief was organised in Chennai on August 2. Sources from Defence Ministry said the seminar was part of larger joint Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Exercise (HADR) which is being held for Tamilnadu and Puducherry from 2 to 4 August.

Tamilnadu chief secretary K Shanmugam was the chief secretary. K Satyagopal, additional chief secretary and Commissioner of Revenue Administration and State Relief Commissioner, Government of Tamil Nadu welcomed the gathering.

The seminar was conducted over three sessions where eight speakers from various government agencies presented their perspectives and plans of action. The seminar concluded with comprehensive ‘experience sharing’ and enthusiastic interaction amongst the participants.
