They glorify their lives, move ahead to serve the nation

As the bugle blew loud and clear youngsters in their uniform marched with pride on Prameshwaran Drill Square as a mark of commencement of a journey. The atmosphere wore colourful look at the drill square on Officers Training Academy (OTA) on September 7 as cadets made their final display of their skills.

After this they will commence their journey towards serving the nation. The journey will fortify their name and fame in the glorious history of this country. The skills displayed by the cadets did not come just like that. The perfection in that was the result of rigorous training in all military skills.

Reviewing the impressive parade of the passing out cadets, Lieutenant General Satinder Kumar Saini, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Southern Command said people of this nation impose immense faith in you and you have to retain that.

‘You had chosen to become a soldier, that is the best choice which will always keep you in high esteem.’ There are challenges, it is amidst an atmosphere of turbulence that you have to keep up peace, said Lieutenant General Saini.

He also said the soldiers must stay in tune with the latest developments and technologies to stay ahead. Sword of Honour and gold medal was given to AUO Ravi Kumar, silver medal was presented to BUO Abhishek Kumar and the bronze medal to ACA Wickremaditya Manker.

The impressive passing out parade witnessed commissioning of 153 gentleman cadets and 30 lady cadets of the SSC-108 and SSC (W) – 22 Course.

Also 12 gentleman cadets and nine lady cadets from friendly foreign countries (six gentleman cadets and two lady cadets from Bhutan, two gentleman cadets and three lady cadets from Seychelles, two gentleman cadets and two lady cadets from Maldives, two gentleman cadets from Fiji, two Lady Cadets from Uganda) graduated in the passing out parade.
