Hiring activity witnessed an uptick in June for most sectors.

With the decrease in the number of COVID cases and relaxations of restrictions, the overall hiring process witnessed a positive and upward growth for most sectors in June, according to various reports.

The hiring process has increasingly improved in June, suggesting a recovery for the non-tech sectors as well based on the newly listed jobs on the job site SCIKEY Market Network.

According to the  SCIKEY Market Network reports the IT sector has been boosting at a very quick pace, although in June, their data revealed that a lot of different sectors, other than the IT have started showing improvement in the hiring activity.

The bank sector has also improved 21 percent in the hiring activity in June when compared to May according to the reports. And the key industries like IT and BPO showed 18 percent growth, leaving the healthcare sector to improving by 20 percent, and the pharmaceuticals sector was improved by 16.9 percent, said the reports. But the hiring activity in the telecom sector has declined by 8 percent in June when compared to last month.

The reports said that the hiring trends grew for fresh graduates by 18 percent and at the leadership level by 8 percent.

Other sectors like insurance, education, FMCG, and retail showed the progress of 12 percent, 12.1 percent, 16 percent, and 5 percent respectively. The data further revealed the hiring activity grew across the board in terms of job roles like HR, marketing, and sales which witnessed an increase of 19.9 percent, 12.1 percent, and 20 percent respectively. Other job roles which include software developers, site engineering, project manager, and finance also indicated positive growth.

Meanwhile, tier I cities like Pune(6%), Mumbai (12%), Delhi (1%), Chennai(12%), Hyderabad (12%), and Kolkata(20%), underwent various backsets during the lockdown trials but showed strong double-digit growth in the hiring activity last month. However, Banglore showed a decline of 2 percent, according to the reports.

On the other hand, tier-II cities like Jaipur saw a significant growth of 30 percent and Ahmedabad 22 percent in the hiring activity.

“Hiring picked up steam last month, providing a mild shot of relief to the job seekers. It is good to finally see the job market bounced back from the pandemic-induced recession at a worthwhile pace. Its been a rough patch for most sectors since the lockdown took place. We are hopeful that the recovery will become more robust in the coming months”, said Karunjit Kumar Dhir, SCIKEY’s co-founder.
