IAS Officer Tina Dabi Appointed BRICS Honorary Advisor

IAS officer Tina Dabi , who topped the civil services examination in 2016 , and who has been proactively working to curb the number of cases in her district of Bhilwara in Rajasthan, has added yet another feather to her hat.

She is now appointed as the honorary advisor to the steering committee for BRICS Chamber of commerce and Industry (CCI) Young Leaders and will serve the position from 2020 to 2023.

The letter to Dabi, which bore the announcement of the nomination, was signed by, assistant director of BRICS CCI , Deepanga Singhi,”Your expertise as an achiever is a fitting example of a role model for the youth in a global society, and we strongly believe that your vision will inspire our motive further,” it said.

An elated Dabi took to Twitter to make the announcement ,saying ,”I am pleased to share that I have been given an Honorary Advisor role at BRICS CCI (Chamber of commerce & Industries) Young Leaders Initiative.”

Dabi, who is currently posted as a sub-divisional officer (SDO) in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district, also posted a two part video on her thoughts. She mentioned that BRICS covered over 41 percent of the world ‘s  population and contributes to over 30 percent of the world’s GDP.

“The Young Leaders Initiative is Bringing together the Youth of these five countries bridging the gap between education and business, imparting them (Youth) with skills, enabling them to network and connect with each other so they may contribute better towards economic as well as sustainable development of the entire world,” she says. She ended with how she was honoured to have the position to work with the Indian Chapter of the CCI and looked forward to it.

After she topped the IAS exam, Dabi was in the news for the model she and her team applied to curb the spread of the Coronavirus in Bhilwara . They took proactive steps to control the numbers, what was called a ‘ruthless containment’ model – translating to district isolation, aggressive screening, quarantine and isolation wards and rigorous village monitoring.
