Prakash, Commissioner, Greater Chennai Corporation.

Young Indians mentions it to be an Innovative, Sustainable and Economical solution that would address the spread of Corona Virus. This system is a design thinking approach, and this system can function for 4 individuals at the same time.

They would mainly locate it at places that have more frequently walk up of people. They also aim to set it up at other public places all over the city, like Railway stations, fruits and vegetables markets and many more places where the foot count is high in order to avoid the hands of the individuals from being a carrier of the virus.

Young Indians say, they were inspired by this system from Operation theatres in Hospitals on the way they maintain, hygiene and cleanliness. This made them to bring this system to the general public and this system runs on a Mechanical Pattern not requiring any Electricity or Battery operations.

Young Indians have been working together in order to bring out a Touch free hand wash system. The Cost of this system stands out to come to a price of around Rs.30000/- looking forward to which sponsors have come forward to sponsor for this system and work with Young Indians.

The Government of Tamilnadu, Department of Public and Preventive Health, has come up with a new notification that Buildings and Apartments must install a hand wash facility at the entrance and exit of their premises.

Young Indians also suggests that SUGADHARAM- Touch Free Hand Wash System is the most feasible option, in order to avoid the transmission of Virus, through the contact of a tap.

This system has 4 sinks on either of its side, by which 4 people can wash their hands at a single time. This is run by Foot pedal. When the right side foot pedal is pressed, it releases out Liquid soap and the Left pedal gives out water.

This has a capacity of holding 500 liters of water and 500 ml of Liquid soap on either side, which can be refilled. This indeed is a much needed facility and is been installed as on now in 8 parts of the city.

In Chennai, they aim to install a total of 50 such touch free handwash systems around the city and its sub-urbans.
