TN to have SiddhaAayurveda Board soon

There is some development on the health front in Tamilnadu. According to sources, efforts will be taken up to establish SiddhaAayurveda Board to give a boost to the Siddha, the traditional health system of Tamilnadu.

This will be on line with Ayushman Bharat, said K. Pandirajan,  Minister of Tamil Official Language, Tamil Culture and Archeology. He was speaking at a programme at World Tamil Research Centre Pandiarajan said it was common for people to take to refuge in allopathy medicine system to heal ailments despite the fact that the system can give way to lot of side effects.

Our traditional systems like Siddha are known to be capable of addressing the health problems right at the root-level with no side effects. Speaking to Infodea, Minister Pandiarajan said Tamilnadu Government is making efforts to bring Siddha system into prominence.

Various aspects of the Siddha system lack documentation, efforts are being made to streamline the process. Idea is to ensure that Siddha system of healing also works in a scientific manner similar to allopathy. Dr MGR Medical University also is playing a crucial role to ensure that Siddha system becomes more prominent, he said.

A seperate department has been established at Tamil University for Siddha medicine. Idea to establish research centres is also being considered, said Pandiarajan.

Various estimates point out the presence of about 50,000 practitioners of Siddha and Ayurveda systems of medicine. Government College situated in Anna Nagar is also doing its due towards promoting Siddha medicine.

The educational institution is commendably working towards knowledge enhancement in the field of Siddha medicine, so as to bestow credibility to it and its practitioners, he said
