The Outbreak of Corona Virus also known as Covid-19 has been the most sought after talk of the town and has been led to the destruction of almost everyone; either it is a Middle Class or Upper Class.

The most highly affected after the patients stand to be the Lower class people, while the middle and upper class can manage with the savings, but the lower class, who rely on daily wages and daily earnings.

But what exactly is this Corona ? Is the most sought after question in the mind of every individual. Our Infodea Team has the answer to this question.

Corona virus or Covid-19, in general, is a family of viruses that target and affect mammals’ respiratory systems. Initial symptoms include fever, dry cough, tiredness and a general feeling of being unwell. Other symptoms are emerging such as a lost of taste and smell and stomach problems.

Like cold and flu bugs, the virus is spread via droplets when a person coughs or sneezes. The droplets land on surfaces and are picked up by the hands and spread further.

People catch the virus when they touch their infected hands to their mouth, nose or eyes. The virus likely takes about 5–6 days to give rise to symptoms once it has infected an individual.

According to the WHO(World Health Organisation) , the death rate in Wuhan is two to four percent, whereas in the rest of China it is around 0.7 percent. As a result, local authorities closed down the market on January 1.

The source of the coronavirus is believed to be a “wet market” in Wuhan which sold both dead and live animals including fish and birds.

Such markets pose a heightened risk of viruses jumping from animals to humans because hygiene standards are difficult to maintain if live animals are being kept and butchered on site.

Typically, they are also densely packed allowing disease to spread from species to species. The animal source of Covid-19 has not yet been identified, but the original host is thought to be bats.

Bats were not sold at the Wuhan market but may have infected live chickens or other animals sold there. Bats are host to a wide range of zoonotic viruses including Ebola, HIV and rabies.

The new coronavirus (Covid-19) has spread to nearly every country in the world since it first emerged in China at the beginning of the year. More than 15,96,000 people are known to be infected and more than 95,000 deaths have been recorded.

The Chinese city where the coronavirus epidemic first broke out, Wuhan, ended a two-month lockdown on 8th April, Wednesday, but a northern town started restricting the movement of its residents amid concerns of a second wave of infections in mainland China.

China sealed off Wuhan, a city of 11 million people, in late January to stop the spread of the virus. Over 50,000 people in Wuhan caught the virus, and more than 2,500 of them died, about 80% of all deaths in China, according to official figures.

The surrounding province of Hubei were forced to stay at home, and all travel was suspended. Although restrictions have eased in recent days as the capital of Hubei province saw just three new confirmed infections in the past 21 days and only two new infections in the past fortnight.

As life slowly returns to normal, there are concerns that cases of the disease could spike, not only as people return from new epicentres of the disease overseas, but because China does not disclose the number of asymptomatic cases of infection. Nevertheless, there is a sense that the worst has passed.

The only step to fight against this deadly virus is Social Distancing, reduce the chances of contact with everyone, use masks and Gloves always, Wash or Sanitize your hands until the elbow with alcohol based liquids, and limit your outcome of your houses only for urgent and necessary choices.
