460 Women Trained by NLCI

Ladies who underwent training under Self-employment Scheme in NLCI Limited was facilitated by Yogamaya Acharya, President, Neyveli Ladies Club bestowed Certificates and Stipends. Year ends with new business start-up by 460 Women – Well Trained by NLCI Neyveli Ladies Club President Smt. Yogamaya Acharya bestowed Certificates !! The function was held at Neyveli Ladies Club, Neyveli.
Participating in the event Yogamaya Acharya said as part of women empowerment, Corporate Social Responsibility Division of NLCIL, imparted training to Women under “Praveen Sthri” Scheme. The women from surrounding villages including students of Neyveli Jawahar Science College gained the Self-employment Training and Skill Development Training. In the year 2017-18, 460 women were trained in various discipline like Tailoring, Beautician, to drive Light Motor Vehicle, Modern Gem & Jewellery making and Spoken English Language. The total cost of the training amounted to Rs.30 Lakhs, was met out from CSR Fund.
Smt. Yogamaya handed over Tailoring Machines to 30 Women and bestowed Driving Licenses, to the respective trained women. Instead of giving cash incentives, the company provided Sewing Machines and other instruments to be utilized for the profession, what they learnt.
Senior Officials of NLCIL and Members of Neyveli Ladies Club participated in this function. Earlier Smt. Latha, Treasurer, Neyveli Ladies Club delivered Welcome address and the vote of thanks by Sri B. Balachandar, AEE/CSR of NLCIL.
