New ED for Indian Oil, southern region

There has been a change at the helm of affairs at Indian Oil. Arup Sinha has taken over as executive director (regional services) for southern region of IndianOil. According to a press release, the southern region comprises Tamil Nadu & Puducherry, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala. 

Besides being the regional in-charge for key areas including human resources, finance, product logistics, contracts, safety and security, aviation and quality control, Mr. Sinha will also function as the regional level coordinator for oil & gas industry in the five southern states.

Arup is a post graduate in management from University of Lucknow and has over three decades of experience in the petroleum sector across core functions like operations, aviation, expansion of retail network and institutional business, LPG and lubricants retailing.

At the helm of HR policy making in IndianOil, Sinha had made several critical contributions to the recruitment and  training processes in IndianOil including the e-learning platform for IndianOil employees.

Sinha has played a significant role in digitizing Performance Management System and implementation of performance related pay based on robust evaluation systems.

Sinha has to his credit various successful Corporate Social Responsibility projects of IndianOil including MoU with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) for conducting the Assessment Campaign and distribution of accessories to the ‘Divyangjans,’ National Skill Development Corporation Skilling Projects and building of toilet blocks in rural schools across the country.

He has immensely contributed to the apprentice training and skill development programme of IndianOil through which around 2000 trade and technical apprentices are upskilled across India annually on roll over basis, thus enhancing youth employability.

He had also been majorly associated with the commissioning of the National Skill Development Corporation at Bhubaneswar for training the rural youth to make them employable at trades like electrical, plumbing. Sinha has travelled widely across the country and abroad, participating in national and international events representing the company and industry, say sources.
