ICF honoured for its big achievement

It was a moment to celebrate for Integral Coach Factory (ICF) when it received top award for energy conservation and installation of green energy systems from the Union Ministry of Power.

Integral Coach Factory also known as ICF is located at Villivakkam in Chennai and is into producing coaches for Indian Railways. Moments turned colourful as the Principal Chief Electrical Engineer of ICF received the award from R K Singh, Union Minister of Power in New Delhi on 1 March this year.

 

ICF has achieved a net saving of 41% in specific energy consumption on the target set by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). This reduction was achieved by using clean fuels and introducing a number of energy conservation measures.

The organisation meets its entire electric energy requirement from its 10.5 MW windmills set up at Tottapalli Village of Tirunelveli District and 3.5 MW solar PV (photovoltaic) installations on the rooftop of the buildings and the factories in ICF premises.
