Learn good, leave bad

What can movies do to us? It depends. A good film will have a positive impact while a bad one will leave a negative impression. There are many society oriented movies that conveys a message to the society. There are patriotic movies that make us proud of our country. There are biographies that throw light on the achievements of great souls. All these movies make us ponder and ignite our mind. 

A simple movie which has substance brings changes in the society as well as the mindset of people. Taking Bollywood into account, Swadesh, Jodha Akbar, Chak de India are among the movies that have inspired the society to promote welfare of all. 

But on the other hand there are movies that can simply be called display of glamour. They show women in skimpy clothes in the name of entertainment. 

In this case, our youth is affected by the characters in a negative way. He feels that it’s fine to tease a woman and eventually she would give in and be in a relationship with him. 

What actually may happen may not be rosy. Girls may feel unsafe, develop a mindset that will never be free of misconceptions. Few movies portray that love is above everything. So this has badly influenced the mind of youngsters. Instead of building up their career at the crucial age, youngsters fall in love among them and ruin their future. 

Movies are perhaps like a sword sharp on both sides. Such instruments can serve us or even kill us. It can kill our enemies, but can prove dangerous to us also, as one of its sharp side is always towards our neck. A little negligence can slash our neck.

Our wisdom comes to our rescue in such a situation. Exercise caution in what we see and learn. Taking what is good and bidding goodbye to all that is bad is a wise thing to do. 

For bad things are like tramps, treat one of them, soon he will be back with a whole lot of friends. Letting in one thing bad will soon pave way for other bad things, driving them away will keep us trouble free.
