Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh, in his virtual talk with photographs of party followers, was killed since assembly poll results were announced in May, he said that accomplishing opposition politics was a “crime” in West Bengal.

Ghosh destroyed statements by West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee that there was no post-violence chaos, declaring 30 BJP workers had been killed since she took responsibility as CM on May 5 for the third time. “There have been 11,782 events of violence in the West Bengal after assembly voting results became known on May 2. Approximately 80,000 people had to leave their home and residence and seize shelter in other states,” he said.

Why do leftist intellectuals hate Dilip Ghosh so much? Here is the reason

The Bengal BJP president cited a report on the assaults on women just after assembly votings. “I surprised to how a woman CM could brush aside from the 123 cases of attacks on women. Approximately 39 women were gang-raped, of which barely three sufferers could reside legal complaints. When the National Commission for Women chairperson encourages others to reside complaints, they took their step back, confessing that their family members would sacrifice their lives if they did so,” Ghosh said, citing findings of the NHRC panel report to the Calcutta High Court.

While clarifying post-poll violence, he alleged: “Heavy bulldozers were used to demolish to the ground shops and houses pertaining to the opponent. Police didn’t commit any action.”

Bengal leader of opposition Suvendu Adhikari described the violence in relation to the Great Calcutta Killings of 1946. “The violence this time was relatively unique from past happenings. Members from a specific community, the followers of Sanatan culture and moralities, were targeted. The assault was governed by another community, reminiscent of the Great Calcutta Killings, Noakhali riots, the violence against Sikhs. The NHRC report is just the direction of the iceberg,” he said.
