Southern Railway GM on an inspection drive

John Thomas, General Manager, Southern Railway conducted inspection of Tirunelveli – Nagercoil – Thiruvananthapuram section recently. According to sources from Southern Railway General Manager was accompanied by a team comprising divisional railway manager Thiruvananthapuram division and principal heads of various departments of Southern Railway.

During his inspection of Tirunelveli – Sengulam section, the general manager inspected Non-interlocked LC Gate at Sengulam. He interacted with the gang staff and motivated them by declaring awards.
The General Manager and team inspected LC No.116 between Tirunelveli and Sengulam, Nanguneri railway station, Railway Quarters and Traction sub-station, a major bridge between Nanguneri and Valliyur railway station, track points and crossings at Valliyur, tunnel at Kulitturai – Prassalla section and Railway station and relay room at Nemam.

As part of Southern Railway’s green initiative project, rooftop solar power plants were inaugurated at Nanguneri and Valliyur Railway Stations during the inspection.

A rest room for engineering staff fully powered by solar power was also inaugurated in Tirunelveli – Sengulam section during the inspection. A Training coach with advanced technology for training has been inaugurated by the GM at Thiruvananthapuram central station.

General Manager also interacted with passenger associations, media and commuters at various railway stations. He appreciated the effort of employees for their dedication in ensuring safe train operations and for their contribution towards the upkeep of work places and railway stations.
