The focus was always on rendering better service to passengers and it will continue to be in the years to come. This was the point that went round and round loud and clear at Raja Annamalai Mandram in Esplanade in Chennai on 12 April when Southern Railway celebrated 64th Railway Week.
The moment became really special when General Manager’s Inter Divisional overall Efficiency Shield was given to Salem division. Palakkad and Chennai Divisions jointly bagged Runners up shield. Not only that, distribution of
36 efficiency shields for outstanding performance in different areas of railway working to different divisions, workshops, units made the celebration even more special.
About 155 railway officers and staff were honoured with ‘Individual Awards.’ About 14 group awards were also given to about 157 railway employees. Rahul Jain, General Manager, Southern Railway was the chief guest for the function and distributed prizes to various divisions, departments, workshops and awards to officers and staff for their meritorious performance.
P.K. Mishra, additional general manager, Southern Railway and Sunitha Vedantham, principal chief personnel officer were among those present.
