SRM IST wins TN IUK tournament consecutively

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST) won theTamil Nadu Inter University Kabaddi (TN IUK) men’s tournament consecutively. Organized by the Tamil Nadu Physical Education & Sports University, the tournament was conducted between 5th to 7th April and SRM IST emerged victorious with 36-30 over University of Madras, declining them to runner up.
Dr. MGR Institute of Science &Technology played against SRM IST and encountered a 42-15 deplorable defeat by defending champions, consequently descending to the fourth position. Maintaining the winning streak, SRM IST conquered Anna University’s strength, skill and stamina and landed another phenomenal victory (46-28), sliding Anna University down to the third position.
Quashing the high spirits of the top order kabaddi players in the tournament, SRM IST went on claiming some more applauds as the team emerged triumphant over Karpagam Institute of science & Technology, hanging a jaw dropping 42-21 defeat on the score-board in quarter finals.
Rewarding the winners, as per the SDAT norms, teams securing first three places received cash prize of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,500 and Rs 5,000 respectively.
